Rhassoul: a spring detox ally

What is rhassoul?

Rhassoul, also called Ghassoul which means “land that lavates” in Arabic, is a clay native to North Africa, and more particularly to the Atlas Mountains located in Morocco. It has been used for centuries in the East as a cleansing care and is even part of the ancestral rituals of hammam care.
Rhassoul is a clay rich in minerals such as magnesium, iron, sodium, zinc, phosphorus and potassium. It is a 100% natural clay, which can be used in a thousand and one ways: as a mask, as a scrub, in no-poo, as a washing base for hair and body …

Ghassoul clay to detoxify

Still little known in the world of clays, this clay knows a popularity that continues to increase throughout the world. It is now particularly popular as a care for textured and curly hair.
Ghassoul clay has cleansing and exfoliating properties that give it ideal properties to detoxify and purify the skin as well as the scalp. It gently eliminates impurities, promotes cell renewal and restores a homogeneous skin texture.
Thanks to its strong capacity for absorption and adsorption of impurities and toxins, it acts deeply but also and above all gently. That’s why it’s suitable for all skin & hair types!

What ingredients to make this detox mask?

Are you a fan of 100% natural  detox masks? Then this rhassoul mask is for you ! To prepare your rhassoul clay detox mask, you will only need a few ingredients :

  • 3 teaspoons rhassoul clay powder
  • 3 teaspoons geranium floral water
  • 2 drops of tea tree essential oil.

Mix the ghassoul powder and floral water until you get a smooth and silky paste. Add the essential oil and mix again.
Warning: clay is a living material that reacts in contact with metal and plastic. To preserve all the properties of ghassoul, prefer glass or earthen utensils and containers for your preparations.

Then apply the preparation to your entire face evenly. Be sure to avoid the eye area, where the skin is thinner and more sensitive.

Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse with clear water.

What are the effects on the skin?

Rhassoul clay will deeply cleanse your skin. Thanks to its absorbent and purifying properties, it will naturally regulate your sebum production and thus limit the appearance of imperfections (blackheads, small pimples …). This oriental clay will also gently exfoliate your skin for a double benefit: a unified complexion and better absorption of post-mask applied care!
Geranium floral water not only perfumes the mixture but also promotes cell regeneration and acts as a tonic care for a guaranteed “good looking” effect.
Tea Tree essential oil is known for its purifying and sanitizing action, ideal for skin with imperfections.
